Mind Blowing Bridges of Asia #2: Henderson Waves Bridge, Singapore

The undulating sculptural form sure is making waves in Singapore! This is the island nation’s highest pedestrian and cycle bridge connecting the rolling hills of Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge Park. The bridge was commissioned by the Urban Development Authority (URA) of Singapore to IJP Corporation and RSP Architects, Planners & Engineers.

The length of the bridge is 83.5m  with 7 semicurves alternating above and below the cover. The width is 8m and rises 36m above Henderson Road highway, hence its name.

At night, from 7pm to 2am daily, the bridge’s waves  are illuminated with LED lights.  (Featured image: by goesholiday.com via thousandwonders.net)
