Bizarre Bugs ─ Pretty but Creepy No: #2: Spindle Ermine Moth

Apretty baby with an unpronounceable scientific name ─ Yponomeuta cagnagella. (See if you can say it without tripping over your tongue!). But otherwise known as the Spindle Ermine, this moth, according to Wikipedia, is from the family of Yponomeutidae ─ the ermine moths. The wingspan of the moth ranges from 19 to 26mm. The moth is attracted to light and its favourite food is the spindle (a European flowering plant), hence its name.  (Featured image from Frodsham Marsh Birdblog)
